While I was surfing Deviantart.com I came across Kyle Robinson's custom figures. I checked his Deviantart page and followed the link to his customizing webpage. It is a nice little tutorial about the basics concerning tools, cleaning, sanding, sculpting and photos. I learned that I should prep by sanding joints and sculpting before I paint! Oops! I'll have to redo my X-Men Cyclops now!

Make an action figure!
Okay, I was looking around for some help on what type of supplies to get or a how to on figure sculpting. Here is a nice little how to tutorial on sculpting with cheap clay and wires. I'll try it out soon.

Thulk! The Thunder Hulk
Okay okay, so I tried to make a blue Hulk. Bulk, which I've written a nice story line, was painted with what was Testors "blue". Looks more purple than blue in my opinion and I don't know why. But rather redo the job I kept on painting and this is the outcome. I took a standard Hulk from the Incredible Hulk movie action figure line and just repainted it using Testors acrylic blue for skin, silver for veins, teeth, and eyes, black for pants, and a white and blue mixture for hair and beard. Don't Hate On Me!

A blog for customs?
One thing that has intrigued me lately is toy customizing. Things as complicated as sculpting a new figure by hand or as simple as repainting one. Hopefully this little blog will tell you my journey into customizing toys as well as show you what I'm learning and where I'm getting it from.
